music2pc is a very simple program that allows you to download music without using P2P or torrent apps.

Some people will like the thought of downloading music this way, because as well as hiding possible dangers, P2P downloads are often illegal. The music2pc app is very easy to use, and won't cause you any problems at all. Type the music you want into the search box, choose from one or the other search provider and wait for the available downloads to appear.

Depending on the type of music you are looking for, music2pc can take a few minutes to return results. Once they display, you'll see the artist name, title, duration and bitrate of the song. There'll also be an option to download the song in MP3 format to whatever folder you choose. music2pc's configuration settings are very limited, and just allow you to use a proxy for finding music.

There are two problems with music2pc. Firstly, it's a very limited app. It just allows you to search and download, and there are no nice extras that will make the experience any smoother. Secondly, music2pc doesn't tell you exactly where the music is coming from, making it no safer than other ways of downloading music. On the upside, it's free, and the developer assures that music2pc is also legal.

It's not clear where music2pc's download's come from, but as an alternative source for free music, it's an interesting tool.

Graphics

Choose from one of 14 character classes, and enter a turn based tactical role playing game. Instead of moving in and out of new screens, Wakfu now scrolls as you move your player. It's still got the isometric view from Dofus, but the graphics are higher definition and really pretty. The turn based combat is fun, whether player versus player or in groups: this tactical element of the game is really well done.

Factions
The world of Wakfu has split into five factions, with different ideas about how to bring order to the world. The Aprophetics, for example, have a motto 'The universe will balance itself out, even in chaos. Best leave it alone.' That's a good example of the gentle humor throughout Wakfu, which makes it so much more attractive than many MMORPGS that take themselves too seriously!

Something different!
Wakfu's biggest development is it's ecosystem - monsters and plants evolve as you progress and get stronger. You can manage resources, allowing then to grow and flourish, or exploit them as much as you can. The game is full of interesting characters, with a good sense of humor. Despite being a fantasy game, Wakfu isn't just another World of Warcraft clone, it's much more original.

Wakfu is really attractive, easy to get into and lots of fun to play. A genuine improvement over Dofus, this is an excellent MMORPG option for anyone who'd like to try something a little different.

This free, lightweight ebook reader takes ebooks from various sources - including straight from a web address - and displays them on an easy-to-read "paper" background that you can browse through with just a click.

As you might expect, you can modify yBook's settings to make reading as comfortable as possible, including adding bookmarks, changing the font and creating catalogs of books for easy access. yBook supports various ebook formats, including text, HTML, RTF and PRC.

Using yBook was much more comfortable than other ebook reader software, and a few extra functions - such as direct download of Gutenberg ebooks and auto-load for the last read item - make using it very easy. There were a few minor problems, however: the application seemed unstable at times, and the bookmark function isn't very advanced.

A few small issues apart, yBook is a good option for people who like to read onscreen.

Elements Weather Forecast is a nice looking app that also provides you with plenty of meteorological information to keep your curiosity satisfied. When you install the app, it will ask you to confirm the units you want your weather in, and ask you for permission to identify your location.

Once you're in, Elements Weather Forecast offers you three different weather options - one forecast that includes sun/moon phase information, another standard nine-day forecast, and a navigable map-based assessment. Clicking on a given day will give you a more detailed forecast for the date you've picked.

Although Elements Weather Forecast looks pretty complete and the data seems accurate, we weren't 100% impressed. Some weather categories were missing depending on the city chosen, and navigation wasn't as smooth as we had hoped. Add that to the fact that the map function was sometimes hard to navigate, and we couldn't help but conclude that Elements Weather Forecast needs a little more work to make it shine.

Elements Weather Forecast is a nice alternative to the default Windows 8 weather app, but we wouldn't go as far as calling it an improvement.

Windows 8's good looks are perfect for magazine-style apps like Sify News. This particular news app covers Indian news, sport and entertainment, as well as politics, global news and offbeat stories. Its clear layout makes it easy to browse, and clicking on a headline will bring you into the main story.

Unfortunately, Sify News has a few flaws that make it pretty far from being the ideal app. It doesn't support mouse scrolling, and keyboard support is poor. There's no semantic zoom, and it doesn't seem that the developer has really thought about how its content fits onto a screen - many times, we saw titles and headlines that just didn't fit.

Add this to the fact that Sify News doesn't offer any customization or other options, and you can start to see that it's a little limited. This is a pity, as Windows 8 offers a really good canvas for news apps. We can only hope that future versions bring more improvements.

Sify News is a run of the mill news application with a special focus on India.

To be honest, we were a little skeptical when we saw Baby Computer Piano, but with at bit of testing, we actually began to see that it might be pretty useful. Baby Computer Piano is easily enabled and disabled with Ctrl then Delete. When enabled, you'll be able to surf as normal with the mouse, while the keyboard is transformed into a relatively realistic sounding piano.

This means that as you surf, your child will be able to sit on your lap, keeping him or herself busy by playing the piano - but hitting random keys won't suddenly log you out of your browser, or send your page to print!

Baby Computer Piano isn't the most advanced program, but it does work well. It's easy to use, has a hotkey for every function and even has a selection of tunes that can be played automatically, either for your baby to listen to, or try to imitate.

The only problem is that Baby Computer Piano is automatically translated into your system language, and you can't turn it back. If you use more than just English, this could present a problem, especially since the translations aren't that hot.

A sweet program written with babies in mind, give Baby Computer Piano a go next time you're online with your child.
